This page contains resources from the Professional Development day that we had at the end of 2009. The day was a huge success with two guest speakers during the morning session at Victoria University Karori campus, followed by the option of two field trips for the afternoon session.

The first of your guest speakers was Mansoor Khawaja from NZ Statistics, who discussed New Zealand's Changing Population. He was followed by Lional Carter, a Professor of Marine Geology at Victoria University, who came and discussed Current Antarctic and Climate Change Research and its ramification on our lives today. One of the afternoon field trips took people down to Wellington City Council offices where Gerald Blunt, the Principal Urban Designer discussed Shaping the future for Wellington central - issues, ideas and initiative. The other afternoon field trip, led by Gary de Villiers, went down to the south coast of Wellington where we looked at coastal processes concentrating on the Geology and Geomorphology of the region. It also included a session of geological field techniques which are useful in the identification of phenomena and change over time.

Below is a collation of resources from the guest speakers and field trips.
